Making a Cloth Pad Pattern Using A Disposable Pad! // GIVEAWAY CLOSED. Thank you for watching! Please like and subscribe :)
*These are based off of the idea of wanting a cloth pad to have a final snapped width of 2.25' - 2.75 inches (standard width for pads)
CORE: Your core should be somewhere between 1.8 - 2.25 inches in width when the core is laying out flat. Your topper/backer pattern should be 0.5 inches larger all the way around your core.
WINGS: Your pattern should have wings long enough to fully wrap around the pad and create a closure. On a half fold pattern, I measure roughly 3.5 - 3.75 inches while the pattern is folded, making my wings roughly 7 - 7.5 inches across when the pattern is laying flat.
SEAM ALLOWANCE: The tutorial factors in a quarter inch seam allowance. The core is a half inch smaller than the topper/backer all the way around so that when you attach your core to your topper, you have plenty of space to get your sewing machine's foot around the core as it sews around the shape with a quarter inch seam allowance.
